“35 years ago our original ownership group bought a Minute Press franchise and ran with it. They grew it to the largest Minute Man in the entire franchise system at the time in the 90’s and so from the beginning Blooming Color was birth in quick print and these quick turn jobs. And if you needed something the answer was Yes.”
“As we grew and we acquired smaller shops and we brought this into the fold and we acquired Blooming Color as we stand today as an offset partner of ours that we needed that offset ability at that time too, we never lost that mentality. And so the speed to market has always been that important to us and our clients, again, they embrace that.”
“So now today, as you walk around the shop. We are driven by eCommmerce, absolutely. We do custom API integrations. With the clients that we have, the orders pour in via Json and XML overnight and we ship thousands of orders a day and that skyrockets of course in peak season. Like I said before, our team has really embraced that because they have never lost the mentality, again we worked in quick print. And now it is the same, but it so much more powerful than it used to be.”
“Being in the ecommerce space and having lots of orders come in all the time we were really looking for an efficient solution to really upgrade what we were using from an imposition model and so when we bought the (Horizon) Smartstacker along came Ultimate Impostrip and that has really transformed imposition here at Blooming Color. It has become the imposition engine by the way that we do everything and really does a wonderful job. It’s easy to use, easy to set up and it’s immediately applicable.”
“The second step to that is to automate the bindery side of our business and now stepping into Ultimate Bindery. Again, it makes a very seamless process and that’s what you have to find right? You have to find efficiencies and Ultimate helps us do that.”
“It’s litteraly what powers our business today right. If we don’t have strong software partners on each part of that, the whole ecosystems stops working right?”
“So, when we step in to these things, they are a large investments in many cases, so we have to be very thoughtful and very sure because it has to work. There’s not an option, you don’t get a do-over, it has to work.
Then when we take a look at Ultimate, we take a look at Horizon, and those two again have that symbiotic relationship I keep talking about. That’s when it syncs.”
